Add a watermark to a PDF
Stamp words such as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL or your name across the pages of a PDF before you send it out. Set how strong, how large and at what angle it should be. The stamping is done on your device, so an unmarked copy never leaves it.
How to do it
- Drop your PDF on the page, or press «Choose file».
- Type the text, or tap one of the quick picks such as DRAFT or DO NOT COPY.
- Set the «Strength», «Angle», color and «Layout»: «Once» or «Repeated».
- Check the preview, press «Add watermark», then «Save».
Good to know
- A watermark that hides the text behind it defeats the purpose. «Faint» in gray, on the diagonal, stays readable on screen and in print.
- When you send the same document to several people, put each person's name in the watermark and choose «Repeated». A leaked copy then shows where it came from.
- This tool stamps text. It does not place a logo picture, and it cannot remove a watermark that is already in a PDF.

Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Leave the page box empty to stamp every page, or tap pages and type ranges to stamp only those, for example everything except the cover.
Is it safe to watermark a confidential document online?
Here the file is not uploaded: the watermark is added by your browser on your own device. That is useful for the very documents people usually watermark, such as contracts, drafts and ID copies.
