Add page numbers to a PDF
Number the pages of a PDF before you print, submit or bind it. Choose the position, the style and the number to start from, and add a header or footer line if you need one. The numbering is done on your device with no upload.
How to do it
- Drop your PDF on the page, or press «Choose file».
- Choose the «Position» and the «Style»: 1, - 1 -, 1 / 12 or Page 1.
- If there is a title page, turn on «No number on the first page (cover)».
- Check the preview, press «Add page numbers», then «Save».
Good to know
- Want the page after the cover to show 1 instead of 2? Skip the cover and set «How to count» to «Start again from 1».
- To number only part of a document, such as the main text after the contents pages, tap those pages or type their range. The other pages get no number.
- If the number lands on top of existing text or a footer, try another corner or a smaller text size. Under more settings you can also set the exact position.
Questions
How do I add page numbers to a PDF for free?
Open the PDF here, choose where the numbers go and press «Add page numbers». There is no account, no limit on use, and nothing but your numbers is added to the pages.
How do I start page numbering from page 2 or page 3?
Select the pages that should carry a number, starting from the page you want, and set «First number» to the number it should show. For a single cover page, the cover switch does it in one tap.

Yes. Type a line such as a chapter name or your name in «Header or footer text (optional)». It is printed in the middle of the opposite edge on every numbered page.
